Creator Agreement

You must be at least 18, resident in Ethiopia, and complete identity verification (KYC) before receiving funds. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account secure.

ye-shay lets you earn through tips, digital products, the ye-shay Reader, physical goods, member clubs, freelance gigs, UGC Shamo, and the Creator Exchange (audience acquisition). You decide what to offer; you are solely responsible for what you sell and for fulfilling it.

ye-shay charges a single flat platform fee of 8% on everything you earn — tips, product sales, club memberships, freelance orders, UGC Shamo, and Creator Exchange deals. Creator Exchange also adds an 8% buyer premium paid by the buyer. Fees are disclosed before each transaction and deducted automatically. Payment processing is handled by Chapa in Ethiopian Birr (ETB); Chapa’s payout transfer fees are absorbed by ye-shay.

Funds you earn are held in your ye-shay wallet. Some funds are held in escrow until an obligation is met — e.g. physical orders release on delivery confirmation, freelance and Creator Exchange funds release in stages. You withdraw available balances to a verified payout destination. We never release escrowed funds outside the ledger.

The Creator Exchange is a structured way to transfer a social-media audience. You agree that: (a) you genuinely own and control any channel you list; (b) all metrics published are the ones ye-shay verified, not your claims; (c) buyer funds are held in escrow and released across a guided 14–30 day handoff; and (d) ye-shay does not control TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Telegram, X, or Meta. Their Terms may restrict or prohibit transfers, and we do not guarantee a channel will survive a transfer or remain in good standing. Listing or buying a channel acknowledges that risk. Selling stolen, hacked, or misrepresented channels is strictly prohibited and is grounds for termination and forfeiture.

You retain ownership of your content and grant ye-shay a limited licence to host, display, watermark, and deliver it for the services you use. You will not upload anything illegal, infringing, deceptive, or harmful, and you will honour the rights you sell to buyers. Digital products delivered through the ye-shay Reader are watermarked per buyer and streamed, not sold as raw files — circumventing those protections is prohibited.

We operate a violation-and-strike system. We may warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts, and may freeze funds in escrow during an investigation. Funds are frozen, not confiscated; forfeiture happens only in narrow, documented cases (e.g. fraud) and is appealable. Decisions and appeals are recorded.

Buyers and creators can open disputes within the applicable window. ye-shay reviews evidence and decides; outcomes may include full or partial refunds. For Creator Exchange, all transactions are final once the dispute window closes.

We collect identity documents for KYC, store them encrypted, restrict access to authorised reviewers, and delete document files per our retention policy after review. We process your data to operate the platform, meet legal obligations, and keep the marketplace safe.

You are responsible for your own taxes on what you earn through ye-shay.

You may stop using ye-shay at any time. We may suspend or end your access for breach of this Agreement or the law. Pending obligations (open orders, escrow, disputes) survive termination until resolved.

The platform is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, ye-shay is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for the acts of buyers/sellers, or for third-party platforms’ decisions.

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and disputes are subject to the courts of Addis Ababa.

We may update this Agreement. When we do, we bump its version and ask you to accept the new version before continuing to use creator features. Your acceptance (version, date, and IP) is recorded.
