Terms of Service

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement. You’re responsible for keeping your account credentials safe and for everything that happens under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

• Supporters — can browse, tip, buy products, join clubs, order gigs, and buy on the Creator Exchange.
• Creators — can sell products, run clubs and gigs, receive tips, and list on the Exchange. To receive money you must complete identity verification (KYC).
• Brands — can run Shamo (brand bounty) campaigns after completing business verification (KYB).

We may verify your identity or business and may limit features until verification is complete.

• Your content — you keep ownership of what you create and upload. You grant Ye-Shay a limited licence to host, display, and deliver it as needed to run the service (for example, watermarking and streaming a purchased book in the Reader).
• Accuracy — describe your products, gigs, and listings honestly. Deliver what you promise, on time.
• Prohibited items — you may not sell illegal goods, stolen or infringing content, malware, or anything that violates the rights of others or applicable law.
• Files — uploaded files are scanned; digital purchases are delivered through single-use, expiring download links.

Payments and payouts are processed in Ethiopian Birr by our payment partner, Chapa. Ye-Shay charges a platform fee on earnings:

• Tips, products & clubs — 8%
• Freelance gigs — 8%
• Shamo (brand bounties) — 8% (creators keep 92%)
• Creator Exchange — 8% buyer premium + 8% seller commission
• Max subscription — an optional paid plan for creators

You always see the relevant fee before confirming. Payouts are sent to your verified destination (Telebirr, M-Pesa, or bank), subject to a minimum amount and, for larger withdrawals, two-factor confirmation. A first or unusually large payout may be held briefly for review.

For product, freelance, and Exchange transactions, buyer funds are held in escrow and released to the seller on confirmation of delivery — or automatically after the relevant window (for example, 14 days after a physical order ships). If something goes wrong, a buyer may open a dispute within the stated window. Our team reviews both sides and may rule for the buyer (refund), the seller (release), or split the amount. Decisions are made in good faith and are final at our reasonable discretion.

Brands fund a campaign budget up front; creators submit posts that must follow the brief. Payouts accrue based on verified views, capped per submission and by the campaign budget. Artificially inflating views or otherwise gaming a campaign is prohibited and may result in withheld payouts and enforcement action. Unspent budget is refunded to the brand when a campaign closes.

The Exchange lets verified users buy and sell social-media channels with escrow and a guided hand-off. Sellers must accurately disclose what they’re selling; analytics and ownership are verified before a listing goes live. Funds are released to the seller in stages around the hand-off. Ye-Shay records the hand-off steps but cannot guarantee that a third-party platform will permit a transfer, and is not responsible for actions taken by those platforms.

You agree not to:

• Break the law — use Ye-Shay for fraud, money laundering, or any illegal activity.
• Harm others — harass, deceive, or infringe the rights of other users.
• Game the system — manipulate views, reviews, payments, or verification.
• Abuse the platform — attempt to breach security, scrape at scale, or disrupt the service.

If you breach these Terms, we may warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate your account, and — where warranted and as permitted by law — hold or forfeit funds connected to the violation. You may appeal an enforcement decision; appeals are reviewed by someone other than the person who issued the action.

The Ye-Shay name, logo, and platform are our property. These Terms don’t grant you any right to our branding. You retain rights to your own content, subject to the licence in section 3.

Ye-Shay is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it reliable and secure but don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we’re not a party to the underlying deals between buyers and sellers. To the extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

We may update these Terms as the platform evolves; material changes will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, we’ll notify you. You may close your account at any time; some records are retained as described in our Privacy Policy and as required by law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and disputes are subject to the courts of Addis Ababa, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
